DESCRIPTION
Before I start, I'll let you have a quick look at the photos and then the price tag. Go ahead, I'll wait... Back? OK, let's talk about this 1955 Chevy Apache, because it is every bit as cool as it looks in photos. Custom paint, a perfect stance, and a beautifully finished bed catch your eye, but it's also fully sorted and ready to drive cross-country at a moment's notice. The custom Synergy Green and black paint job is definitely attention-grabbing, and that's totally a good thing. Divided by a slashing orange stripe that seems to echo other '50s automotive designs, it seems to emphasize this Apache's low profile. Workmanship is excellent, with great panel fit and exemplary paintwork and a number of custom touches like the 1-piece front windows, rear roll pan, and a flush-fitting tonneau cover. All the original trim was restored, including the cool side badges on the hood and massive front bumper. 1998 GMC front buckets have been reskinned in black leather with green alligator skin inserts, and thanks to a clever OEM design, this is one of those rare rods to offer the safety of shoulder belts. A custom center console was fabbed up and skinned to match the seats, while the original dash was filled and smoothed to give it a unique look. Factory gauges are gone, replaced by a set of white-faced units that fit in a custom panel that fills the original dash. A custom tilt steering column has been topped by a Grant GT wheel wrapped in black leather, and all the modern conveniences, including A/C, an AM/FM/CD stereo, and power windows have been fitted. While there was probably a time when this truck worked for a living, those days are long over. Real horsepower has been nestled under that big hood in the form of a 355 cubic inch small block that barks and snarls like a full race piece. Fitted with a seriously big cam, a set of GM375 heads and a big Edelbrock carb up top to feed it, it makes a reported 450 horsepower and offers moves that are more Camaro than pickup truck. Plenty of chrome means it's more than a workhorse, and thanks to a massive radiator and a pair of electric fans, it's happy to idle in traffic without losing its cool. A built TH400 3-speed automatic with a 2500 RPM stall converter is up to the engine's output, feeding the twist to a 1978 Camaro 10-bolt rear. The front crossmember was modified to handle a Camaro front suspension and 12-inch disc brakes and there's plenty of shiny stuff underneath with a set of ceramic headers and a polished aluminum gas tank. That perfect stance comes from a lowered suspension and massive 20-inch Forte alloys wearing 235/35/20 front and 275/40/20 rear low-profile radials. Representing perhaps the biggest bang for the buck we've ever offered, you couldn't duplicate the paint, let alone the rest of the truck for this asking price. Call today!
