| DESCRIPTION |
| When a car is right, you can tell just by looking at it. Given the predatory stance on this 1969 Chevelle SS396, there's no question the guys who built it did their homework. It is a real big block car, packing a date-code correct engine and a quality restoration with a few upgrades that make this one stand out from the pack. It sports a coat of timeless Cortez Silver with black side stripes that emphasize the gentle arc of the Chevelle sheetmetal, not to mention the super-aggressive rake. This Chevelle looks like it's had its skin stretched tight over its chassis, and the excellent fit of the panels and professional prep give it an extremely high quality appearance. And don't be deceived, the gaps are tight-they only look wide on the doors thanks to door edge guards. Overall, the look is extremely impressive. There's a correct blacked-out SS grille up front, proper SS 396 badges on the flanks, and brilliant chrome bumpers fore and aft. The black bucket seat interior has been restored and swapped from parchment fabric to black vinyl using new seat covers, fresh carpets, new door panels, and a replacement headliner, not to mention all the other small detail pieces that are so tough to track down. A correct SS dash with round gauges is augmented by auxiliary temperature and oil pressure gauges mounted down low and at an angle which makes them easy to see. The center console proudly wears a Hurst T-handle shifter for the M22 Muncie underneath, and the steering wheel looks almost new. In the center of the dash, the original radio has been replaced with a later AM/FM/cassette unit with a graphic equalizer. Although this car has been driven and enjoyed since it was completed, it still presents very well with almost no wear and tear on any of the soft parts. Horsepower is compliments of a date-code correct 396 that has been properly dressed in bright Chevy Orange paint. Situated between the satin black fender wells, it looks remarkably stock, although a few upgrades including an Edelbrock intake, long-tube headers, and a chrome air cleaner add a few extra horsepower. A Muncie M22 4-speed manages the gears, twisting a bulletproof 12-bolt out back. Everything was rebuilt less than 500 miles ago, and runs well today, with loads of big block torque available at any speed and in any gear. Power disc brakes provide sure, confident stops, and the large diameter exhaust system dumps out through the original chrome tips right under the rear bumper. The suspension has obviously been modified using drop spindles and re-arched springs to give it a low, mean look. And someone definitely did their homework when it came time to stuff the wheelwells, because this one wears ideally-fitted 18-inch Boss wheels and 235/40/18 front and massive 295/40/18 rear Nitto radials. Modified just enough to generate serious attention, this big block Chevelle puts a unique twist on a timeless classic. Call now! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
