DESCRIPTION
In some parts of the country, the driving season is slowly ticking down. If that's happening where you live, don't miss this 1967 Chevrolet Nova, which is an ideal cruise and show vehicle that you can enjoy immediately-no tinkering, no extra work required. And yes, it is a real code 18 V8 SS. Nice! Finished in code E Deepwater Blue, this handsome Nova SS boasts an arrow-straight body with incredibly crisp detailing. Fully restored just a few years ago from a solid southern car. Gaps are uniform throughout, and with that relief line running from front to back it's just about impossible to hide misaligned panels. The clean Nova bodywork is a great example of GM's less is more philosophy in the late 1960s, and the limited trim combined with a sleek hardtop profile makes for a very subtle cruiser that speaks softly and carries a big V8 stick. Correct 'Super Sport' badges have been retained, as well as the crossed-flag '327' emblems up front, which all tie in with the SS grille. Bright trim along the rockers has been fully restored, along with the bright chrome bumpers. Originally equipped with a light blue interior, this SS now wears elegant, timeless black upholstery on the vinyl buckets, complete with racy silver stripe that recalled similar Camaro interiors of the period. There's a center console, too, a rare option on the bargain-priced Nova, but practically mandatory with a 4-speed. Auxiliary gauges and a column-mounted tach augment the factory instruments, and yes, that is a dealer-installed A/C system hanging below the dash. An AM/FM/cassette stereo head unit replaces the original AM radio, but the dash has not been cut to accommodate it, and the trunk is finished with a new mat and tire cover. Although the fenders say 327, the engine is actually a 1969 vintage 4-bolt 350 that has been fully rebuilt and dressed up in factory stock livery. Complete with a 350 horsepower cam and 2.02-inch heads, it runs reliably on pump gas, yet makes horsepower to rival the vaunted and incredibly L79. Bright Chevy Orange paint on the block tells you that it has been rebuilt recently, and the A/C system has been upgraded to R134a refrigerant so it's easy to service. A Muncie 4-speed and a 10-bolt full of 3.55 gears on a Posi deliver '60s muscle thrills without being as boisterous as, say, a set of 4.10s might be. The suspension has been rebuilt, the floors are clean, the exhaust system is new, and it rolls on a set of Rally wheels wearing raised white letter Goodyear radials. Fast, clean, and rare, being one of only 8213 V8 SS Novas built, this handsome SS is a brilliant way to finish out the summer. And just imagine the fun of pulling this one out next spring, ready to rumble. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
