| DESCRIPTION |
| There's only one way to spell full-sized luxury with a Chevy bowtie on it: Monte Carlo. This particular 1977 Monte Carlo is an incredible survivor by anyone's definition. Finished in Medium Green with a Buckskin pinstripe, it's an upscale, elegant look that works perfectly on the big Monte Carlo's dramatic shape. Those sculpted fenders show no signs of rust or accident damage, and running one's hands down the flanks there's no sign of previous repairs. If you want a clean, no-stories Monte, this is definitely it. Other details like the matching Buckskin half-roof, the stainless along the rockers, and the heavy chrome bumpers front and rear are all in similarly good shape. Things like the plastic filler panels around the taillights and below the trunk lid are in exceptionally good shape-these were often the first parts to deteriorate with use. Although the car was built during the height of the disco era, the interior is remarkably tasteful and well-executed, and looks fantastic even today. The cloth and vinyl split front bench is comfortable and inviting, and given the car's age, remarkably well preserved. Door panels are excellent, the original carpets are protected by matching floor mats, and the headliner around the built in sunroof remains taut. This one happens to be loaded with options, including A/C, power windows and locks, cruise control, a tilt wheel, and a power driver's seat. The dash is showing its age with a few cracks in the usual spots, but overall the interior would definitely score favorably in preservation class competition. The trunk is completely rust-free and offers a matching full-sized spare and jack assembly. The 350 under the hood is the original, numbers-matching piece. Never out of the car, it runs the way only an original engine does, with a healthy rumble and smooth idle. By 1977, the big horsepower engines were gone, but the 350 remained a torquey, reliable running mate that could drive all those power accessories without breaking a sweat. All the components appear to be original with signs of careful maintenance visible everywhere, from the fresh air filter, to recent belts and hoses. Power brakes and steering are welcome additions to the heavy luxury cruiser, and the 3-speed automatic is a trusted companion. The original wheels wear correct hubcaps and a set of whitewall radials. Class never goes out of fashion, and this Monte Carlo has always been a first-class ride. Call today! | |
