DESCRIPTION
Most big, off-road trucks have led hard lives, but this 1972 Chevrolet K10 4x4 is shockingly clean and unabused. Someone has invested a huge pile of cash into building a serious off-roader, yet it appears that it has never driven on anything more aggressive than someone's front yard. First off, dig that two-tone paint job. It's not only factory correct, but beautifully rendered in modern paints so that is has a gloss and depth that belies this truck's blue-collar roots. I'd almost be willing to call it understated, if not for its massive profile. Every panel looks factory fresh, with no signs of rust, damage, or little oops! issues from heavy mudding. In fact, this might be the cleanest C/K pickup we've seen in a long time, and there's got to be at least twice the asking price wrapped up in its construction. There are no goofy rubber fender flares, no tubular steps or bed-mounted roll bars, and the factory bumpers have been retained fore and aft. Everything fits together well, the panels are properly aligned, and, well, this sucker just doesn't look or act like it has been out stomping around in the dirt. It's seriously straight and clean. Once you climb up there, you'll find a nicely restored interior, again done the way the factory did it in 1972. Remember that avocado green was the height of fashion back then, and with the two-tone bodywork, it actually works really well. The seat is fabric instead of vinyl, which makes it a lot more comfortable on hot days, although with factory A/C, it's kind of a non-issue. The steering wheel is from a late-model Chevy pickup, but the rest of the dash is full of original gauges with crisp markings and clear lenses. The Cheyenne came with upgraded door panels with an embossed design, and their condition suggests that they're brand new. It seems that although the mechanicals are highly modified, efforts were made to keep the interior as stock as possible-heck, even the radio is original! To get those big tires moving takes serious horsepower, and what better than a mammoth 454 cubic inch Chevy V8. The decals on the air cleaner suggest that perhaps it was lifted from, say, a Corvette, although the valve covers are aftermarket units. Power-enhancing upgrades include a set of long-tube headers, and the big block moves the truck around quite easily. The transmission is a built TH400 3-speed automatic driving a 10-bolt axle up front and a stout 12-bolt in back. The lift kit is properly installed with sturdy blocks on the springs, heavy-duty shocks, and custom made driveshafts. Helping the truck achieve its impressive altitude are a set of handsome aluminum wheels wearing 15/38.5-15 GROUND HAWG tires. There's just no way someone built a truck this pretty then took it out in the field where it could get hurt. But that certainly doesn't mean you can't have a ton of fun with it yourself. Call today!
