DESCRIPTION
If you could build the ultimate Mustang what would it look like? For many of us, something along the lines of this amazing 1967 fastback might be just the ticket. Unaltered classic good looks combined with a lot of modern performance and comfort upgrades sounds pretty good, doesn't it? Well forget building it yourself, someone has already done it for you, and painted it bright red to boot. The 1967 Mustang fastback is so popular that you can buy reproduction bodies. Fortunately, this one is 100 OEM steel, but that speaks volumes about their desirability. This one has been expertly finished to a very high standard, with straight sheetmetal and great body gaps that give this one rock star looks. Nothing has been altered, not even a hood scoop or rear ductail spoiler, and somehow they were able to resist putting a set of Shelby-style stripes on it-heck, this one isn't even dressed up as a fake GT! Details such as the grilles in the quarter panels, the trim around the concave rear panel, and the stainless rocker moldings have all been restored and polished, and both front and rear bumpers are freshly chromed. This is one great looking pony. Inside, the classic original style buckets have been upholstered in elegant tan vinyl with black carpets for a classic look. The seat covers carry the original pattern, and the folding rear bench offers impressive storage space. Reproduction door panels, a new headliner, and a color matched lower dash give it a 1967 look and feel, while upgrades like a column-mounted tach and auxiliary gauges give you a better view of what's going on under the hood. A/C, a powerful AM/FM/cassette stereo, and a cool wood steering wheel are all welcome additions that make this a car you could drive every day. In the trunk you'll not only find a correct mat, but a pair of powerful speaker enclosures as well. Horsepower was definitely part of the equation when this car was being planned, and the final result is a 1968 vintage 302 filled with top-shelf parts and beautifully dressed. The block and heads have been finished in black, which is not only the correct color, but it also provides a great contrast with the red details that have been added throughout the engine bay, including the Ford Motorsport valve covers and bright red plug wires. Of course, it's not just pretty, it runs extremely well thanks to things like an Edelbrock intake with a Holley carb, MSD ignition, and a set of long tube headers feeding a throaty dual exhaust system. The engine feeds a freshly rebuilt automatic transmission and a 9-inch rear, with control provided by a new rack and pinion setup and Wilwood disc brakes. And in a final act of taste and restraint, 16-inch Torque Thrusts were installed and wear 225/55/16 Goodyear performance radials. This Mustang offers an ideal balance of performance and classic good looks, without all the usual Mustang cliches. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
