DESCRIPTION
This 1967 Charger is remarkable for several reasons. First, it is one of only 36 built with the 440 Magnum engine. Two, it is an stunning one-owner car with full documentation from new. And three, it is 95 original and unrestored. If you're an early Charger fan, they simply don't get any better than this. That's original code Z Gold Metallic paint on the sleek Charger body, with only a touch-up on the right rear quarter panel. Always a southern car with one meticulous owner, it's obvious that this car was purchased as something special and always treated as an object of value. The usual dings and chips that most cars get during the daily slog are notably absent. The soft glow of the original paint is difficult to replicate, but it's awfully hard to find where the new paint was applied because the blending was so masterfully done. Other details, like the hidden headlights which were a Charger trademark, the full-width single taillight out back, and the neat trim that runs along the tops of the fenders all remain excellent. The chrome is brilliant, the glass is virtually unmarked, and the stainless rocker trim hasn't been beaten up by road debris. This is a very impressive survivor. The story continues inside, where only the driver's seat has been reupholstered. Again, the workmanship is so good that most folks won't notice the new components anyway. Look a little closer and you'll notice that this one is also loaded with options, including factory A/C, a full-length center console with a cool rear armrest section, headrests, a remote mirror, and tinted glass all around, which is especially useful with that massive rear window. The black carpets and dash help anchor the interior so it doesn't overpower with the gold color, and the Charger included a factory tach in the surprisingly complete gauge package. Even the original Music Master AM radio remains, augmented by an FM receiver hanging underneath. According to Galen Govier, this is one of perhaps only 36 Chargers equipped with the 440 cubic inch, 375 horsepower big block V8. Along with a rugged TorqueFlite automatic and a set of 2.94 gears out back, it's a brilliant example of an iron fist in a silk glove. The engine bay shows impressive originality and signs of correct, conscientious maintenance, but it has not been restored. The condition of plated pieces, the firewall, and even the hard lines for the A/C system is strongly suggestive of a car that has always been properly stored and never used in foul weather. Even a red cap reproduction battery has been installed, giving it a very period exact look. And speaking of period perfect, the matching painted steel wheels with 225/75/14 redline radials give it a showroom look. This car is set to dominate survivor class judging at any level, and it carries all its original documentation, including a build sheet. You absolutely will not find a nicer '67 Charger anywhere at any price. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
