| DESCRIPTION |
| Designed and made to measure success is this 1988 Mercedes Benz 560LS 2-door roadster, Model #107. Painted in Smoke Silver, code #DB651 over gray trim, code #DB7677. The interior comes with palomino brown leather hides and associated trim. This beauty is powered by a numbers matching 5.6L 8-cylinder - V8 engine and is mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. This particular car was built with many options and accessories. Some include power steering, power brakes, power door locks, power windows, air conditioning, AM/FM radio with a cassette player. And TWO tops. One removable hardtop painted in Smoke Silver and a black soft top, which is in good condition. Built in Sindelfingen in October of 1988, she has only recorded 72395 actual miles. The rest will be your turn. Unveiled in September of 1979 at the IAA in Frankfort, many viewers did not realize the appeal of the design at first glance. Mercedes design team led by the famous designer Bruno Sacco, was intending to produce a vehicle that was lighter, leaner, faster and sleeker than the previous designs. We well know by now that his intention was more than met. This short wheelbase design was a hit. With engineering and technological features like, not only driver-side airbags but also driver side air bags became standard. To prevent wheel spin traction control (ASR) was introduced. A couple others included new design seatbelt pretensioners, ABS brakes, rear leveling suspension, courtesy lights and a topographical sensor that would monitor the vehicle's position, whether on an incline or decline. For example, if the 560SL was coasting downhill, the transmission had the ability to hold back acceleration without using the brake pedal. Most of these features are available on today's cars but back then they were considered innovative. This is an extremely clean, solid, reliable and an original car. Chrome, body panels and glass are all in great shape. I even have the original tools to remove the hardtop! Drive it, show it or take it to work knowing that you will have peace of mind during the entire trip. This car looks the part either with the top down, up or off showing those beautiful palomino brown leather hides. Give one of our sales associates a call and have him walk you around it. You will not be disappointed. This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom. For more information, please call (678) 279-1609 or toll free (877) 367-1835. | |
