DESCRIPTION
Not only is this first-year 1969 Chevrolet Blazer rare, but it may just very well be the nicest one in existence. As the Camaro was Chevy's response to the Mustang, the Blazer was the Bronco's counterpart. Chevy took their time, analyzed the Bronco's weaknesses, and built a unique truck that was bigger, more powerful, and more spacious than the Ford. Only 4935 were built in 1969, but the writing was on the wall, and it wasn't long before the Blazer was handily outselling all its competitors. Refinished in its original Light Blue with a white top, this awesome Blazer looks like it has never ventured off road, never pulled a trailer, and never worked a day in its life. The panels are shockingly straight, the bodywork is ultra-clean, and it's obvious that someone got way out on the far end of the cost-to-benefit analysis when the restoration was being done. Seriously, trucks this straight just don't exist anymore, although living its entire life in Hollywood probably didn't hurt this one any. The paint has a brilliant gloss and a deep shine that can only come from modern finishes, which means that it'll look this good practically forever. Up close, there are no signs of rust or damage repair, and the finish has been buffed to a mirror-like shine. Part of the reason that the Blazer was so successful is that it brought all the options and upscale trim from the pickup truck line to the SUV market. Where its competitors were still basic transportation, this Blazer offers options like A/C (which is incredibly rare), and an automatic transmission. The seats have been reupholstered in the original pattern vinyl, with twin buckets separated by a wide center console just behind the shifter for the standard 4-wheel-drive system. The gauges appear to be original and very well preserved, and the 73,373 miles shown on the odometer is authentic. This one also includes an AM radio in the truck-like steel dashboard, and a matching blue steering wheel. Even with the rear seat in place, the Blazer offers plenty of room to carry your gear. The Blazer offered a selection of engines, ranging from a 250 cubic inch inline-six to the numbers-matching small block 350 cubic inch V8 that's in this amazing specimen. Fully rebuilt and beautifully detailed, the engine makes this SUV a surprisingly quick machine on the street, and offers a wonderful V8 rumble from the exhaust. The restorer went to great lengths to duplicate factory markings, and the finishes and hardware used are correct. 1969 Blazers came only as 4x4s with 4-wheel drum brakes, so it's as sturdy as an anvil and just as clean underneath. Custom wheels wearing 31x10.5x15 tires give it a commanding stature, but the original wheels and tires are included with the sale. This is most likely the nicest early Blazer in the world, optioned with a V8, automatic transmission, and A/C. If you're a collector, this is the only one you should be considering. Call today!
