DESCRIPTION
You've never seen a Pro Touring car like this 1967 Pontiac before. Camaros, Mustangs, Barracudas all get the Pro Touring treatment, but a LeMans? Believe it. If you're going to color outside the lines, you need to do it right, and the inky black finish on this hardtop is show quality. Body mods are subtle, but Pontiac experts will note that the quarters have been replaced with Tempest pieces, which gives it a slight change that will leave most onlookers scratching their heads. The entire body was stripped to bare metal and rebuilt from there using only the best materials. Two-stage urethane gives the black paint the depth of an oil slick, and you'll be tempted to dip your fingers in it just to see if it's still wet. The bumper bolts have been shaved, along with the drip rails and door locks to give it a minimalist look. A Viper fuel filler cap was added atop the driver's rear quarter, and GTO grilles up front are framed by a set of stacked HID headlights. In the finest Pro Touring tradition, the interior is a beautifully crafted driving environment that delivers luxury to match the car's performance. Power Recaro buckets are wrapped in glove soft leather, and additional hides were used to finish the stock rear bench and door panels. Two layers of Dynamat ensure that it stays quiet and cool inside, which you'll appreciate when you fire up the Vintage Air system. The stereo features an Alpine head unit with PPI amplifiers, MB Quartz speakers, and a pair of 12-inch JL Audio subwoofers mounted in the trunk, and the result is a thundering system that can blow the windows out. And speaking of windows, they're power, along with the locks. The original dash uses an engine-turned panel and Auto Meter gauges to give it a Pontiac look, and that cueball shifter isn't just for show-it's attached to a Muncie 4-speed underneath. Pro Touring also means power, and lots of it. In this case, it's a Ken Barr 496 cubic inch stroker full of top-shelf hardware, including Top Line heads, a Comp Cams camshaft, an Edelbrock Air Gap intake, and a massive 870 CFM Holley carburetor to feed the beast. The firewall has been smoothed, but with everything doused in industrial strength black wrinkle paint, it's hard to see where the OEM ends and the custom begins, which is just how we like it. A compact serpentine belt drive manages the accessories, while an aluminum radiator keeps the big block running cool. The chassis has been fortified to handle the power, with Hotchkiss suspension components, Edelbrock shocks, and a pair of massive Hellwig sway bars. Stopping is drama-free, thanks to giant Wilwood 4-piston disc brakes at all four corners. Traditional Cragar mags have been upgraded to 21st century 17-inchers, and wear modern BFGoodrich rubber. This is another brilliant car that needs to be seen to be believed. Call us for all the details! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
