| DESCRIPTION |
| Nobody else nailed the elusive blend of performance and sophistication like Pontiac in the 1960's. This 1963 Grand Prix is so cool, Steve McQueen probably asked it for tips on meeting women. As chiseled and sleek as a perfectly tailored suit, but with its original 389 under the hood it has the heart of a muscle car. Refinished in its original code W Nocturne Blue Metallic, this stunning coupe doesn't need chrome and a convertible top to stop traffic wherever it goes. From the radical stacked headlights that started a trend, to the almost hidden taillights, there was simply no better way to arrive in 1963. Perfectly proportioned and with no line out of place, the body has been restored to excellent condition. Look at the crispness of the lines, the depth of the finish, and the fit of the doors, hood, and trunk. Impressive, no? Inside this Grand Prix is loaded with options, including power windows, a rare dealer-installed factory tach, vacuum gauge, power antenna, front and rear speaker with speaker select, speedometer speed warning indicator (that still works!), power brakes and steering, bucket seats, and a center console. Like the exterior, it is a correct code 88-B blue vinyl bucket seat setup that looks like new and is ready to show. The dash is a piece of '60s modern art, with a lovely combination of chrome, wood, and vinyl that is as cool as a vintage Rolex. The seats wear their original seat covers that you will swear must be brand new. Just sit down and feel the firm and supportive original foam underneath. Look closely and you'll dig the detailing. For example, the high-beam indicator is the famous Pontiac Indian head mascot, the ribbed center console echoes the taillights as well as the silver streaks that used to adorn all Pontiac hoods, and the three auxiliary gauges hang upside-down in their own chrome pods. And for the ultimate in '60s cool, dig that plexiglass steering wheel, which probably cost as much to restore as a new Volkswagen cost in 1963. You'll also note that every single bulb works, every window powers up and down, and the original AM radio pulls in stations loud and clear. Show quality? You'd better believe it. Power comes from the original, matching-numbers four barrel 389 cubic inch V8, which was Pontiac's top performer and would become the foundation of the GTO just a year later. With 303 horsepower and a massive 425 pounds of torque, this middleweight coupe moves like a bantam yet hits like a heavyweight. The engine is properly dressed in Pontiac Turquoise paint, and there wasn't much flash this year-they were waiting for the GTO to start adding chrome under the hood. No matter, because this one also got a lot of goodies, including power steering, power brakes and those cool Pontiac 8-lug wheels. Correct items also include the hoses and clamps, the original air cleaner, and a restored radiator. Underneath, it's all steel with original floors, an older dual exhaust system, and recent 225/75/14 Cooper whitewall radials. Fans of early Pontiac muscle, don't miss this opportunity! There hasn't been this much cool on wheels since Sinatra's last tour. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
