| The 1934 Ford has endured the test of time, and the fact that there are beautifully built rods like this Gibbons-bodied 3-window coupe only proves that great designs transcend time. Gibbons has been building some of the industry's best fiberglass for decades now, and I bet if you asked pro builders their preference, they'd choose new fiberglass in a crate over original steel ten times out of ten. You certainly can't argue about the fit and finish of this handsome coupe, which offers crisp detailing that hasn't been sanded off, and great panel fit that comes from careful assembly. The charcoal gray paint is a great contrast to all the brightly colored rods out there, giving the coupe an understated elegance that it probably had in 1934, but lost when people started using the flames and pastel colors. The louvered hood is steel, of course, with three rows of louvers that are not only cool, but functional, keeping the hot small block underneath nice and cool. Black fenders were gone from the Ford palette in 1934, but it's a traditional look that always works well on full-fendered cars like this. Original style bumpers, King-Bee headlights, '39 Ford taillights, and shaved door handles are all appropriate on this slick rod, giving it a look that will still be in fashion decades from now. A wonderfully functional gray tweed interior makes this a car you can drive cross-country without a worry. Those supportive buckets not only position you perfectly, but are adjustable enough to make them fit just about anybody. Matching gray carpets give the coupe a sense of luxury and help control heat, and a tilt steering column with a leather-wrapped wheel only adds to the comfort. Additional features include ice cold A/C that was recently serviced, an array of Ford gauges, and a powerful AM/FM/CD stereo system. Power windows, a Lokar shifter, and a fabricated center console will also help make your next Power Tour appearance comfortable. In back, there's a finished trunk that remarkably carries a full-sized spare, making this a rod that can be driven anywhere with confidence. More confidence comes from the 351 Windsor under the hood, and kudos for putting a Ford in this Ford. Making great power and torque in a compact package, the 351 is the ideal running mate for this coupe, and its subdued appearance matches the rest of the car. Forget excessive chrome and flash that only ensures that you'll spend more time under the hood than behind the wheel, it's functional and reliable. The C4 3-speed automatic was freshly rebuilt and has just shakedown miles on it, while out back there's a Ford 9-inch hanging on a set of leaf springs. Up front coilover shocks and a rack-and-pinion steering box make it easy to maneuver, and 4-wheel discs deliver impressive stopping power. Polished American Racing wheels wear big-n-little radials for a nice rake. This is a wonderful, sorted, enjoyable rod that couldn't be duplicated for the price. Call today!
