| DESCRIPTION |
| Impala fans, if you think all the affordable convertibles are gone, guess again. While not perfect, this is a very nice 1964 convertible with a great-running V8 under the hood. With a few tasteful deviations from stock, it's also a handsome cruiser that will be welcome at the local cruise night, and everyone will think you spent a lot more than you did to bring it home. Finished in Roman Red, it's nice to see an Impala that hasn't been dressed up to be an SS clone. Instead, this one is honestly presented as a standard Impala convertible, but standard doesn't mean plain. The finish was well done several years ago, and it presents extremely well as a stunning driver with a lot of charisma. Those massive quarter panels are straight, the body lines are crisp, and the doors shut well, indicative of a car that has never been rusty or damaged. The paint appears to be urethane, which means it will look this good practically forever if you take care of it. Impala Bob's supplied a ton of new chrome, and all the brightwork glitters like jewelry on the big, red ragtop. Even the brushed aluminum rear panel is in excellent condition with no dings or chalkiness. Dual antennas, six beautiful taillight lenses, and dual exhaust tips peeking out from under the rear bumper remind you that an Impala is no garden-variety convertible; this is a top-of-the-line car. Inside, the interior has been nicely upgraded to include red cloth inserts, which are vastly more comfortable on a hot summer day than the original sticky vinyl. Bench seats fore and aft allow six passengers to cruise in style, and the work appears to be quite recent with no wear or damage. Plush red carpets were installed at the same time, giving the interior a luxurious feel, and the door panels have been upholstered to match. Note that this car offers power windows, a column-shifted TH350 automatic in place of the original PowerGlide, and the original AM radio in the dash. The white convertible top is in good condition, but if you're like most convertible owners, you'll only use it in emergencies. The engine is a Chevy 350 that was rebuilt just 2500 miles ago. Now sporting a cool Tri-Power induction setup, it rumbles with authority and moves the big ragtop better than the original 327. The small air cleaners atop each carb, along with the ram's horn exhaust manifolds give it a period performance look, just about how this car might have looked in, say, 1968 when it was a few years old and ready to have some fun. A modern alternator generates the electricity, and power brakes provide confidence when you open the throttle. Ubiquitous Flowmasters give it a unique engine note, and it rides on American Racing aluminum wheels and 15-inch radials that fit just right. This awesome Impala will not last long in the showroom, it's just too nice and the price can't be beat. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
