Star power is what we call this 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-door hardtop - numbers matching 283cid Power Pack V-8 from a little old lady in Hartselle Alabama. The 2nd owner purchased the Bel Air in 2005 from the original owner, an elderly lady. With the popularity of this special Bel Air, a frame off restoration, including the power train was given 100 miles ago. She is painted an Onyx Black code #8170 over a correct red/black cloth and red imitation leather. To give this car a little more confidence the powerglide automatic transmission was replaced with a modern 350 3-speed turbo automatic transmission. Also ordered with this car is an AM radio. The 1957 Bel Air was the most recognized icons in the automotive industry. Stylish and Sporty there's no doubt that it's one of America's best and most loved cars. This one is the top of the line - Bel Air model #2454. Under the hood Mr. Cole worked his magic developing Chevy's small block V8 engine. Bel Air's were distinguished with more chrome and featured a golden grille set off with a heavy chrome bar that included the parking lights. The rear fins were capped with chrome moldings and highlighted with anodized aluminum side trim panels. And look at those beautiful full wheel covers with those tri-blade spinners over those wide whitewalls! Hiding the fuel-filler door was continued into 1957 with locating it in the left rear chrome fin trim, a small but convenient detail that helped clean up the exterior lines. Motor Trend reported in their testing that 0 to 60mph took 9.9 seconds and the ΒΌ mile in 17.5 seconds at 77.5mph. To the best of our knowledge this car never lived in the north. The car was born in Atlanta Georgia and was delivered to a dealer in Alabama.
