| DESCRIPTION |
| Here we have 2-owner 138 VIN 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle 2-door SS coupe in factory correct Crocus Yellow over a black vinyl patterned imitation leather interior. Powered by a 327cid V-8 and mated to a 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission which was completely re-built less than 10,000 miles ago. Power to the rear wheels is done with a 3.73:1 10-bolt positraction gear. This SS 327cid was re-built with an overbore of .60, a camel hump fuelie heads, a Comp cam shaft, Hedman Elite ceramic coated headers going through 2 ½ aluminized exhaust pipes with crossover Flowmaster mufflers, GM Hei Ignition, a Hitachi mini-starter, Edlebrock Permatex coated intake manifold and 4-barrel carburetor, Weiand aluminum hi-flow water pump and much more. Brakes are modern day power front disc with 12 rotors and rear drums. To set this SS off is a set of period chrome plated Crager SS wheels with B.F. Goodrich T/A radial tires. 215-60-R15 up front and 235-60-R15's out back. Other options include vintage air conditioning, deluxe seat belts, factory gauge package with a tachometer, SS bucket seats and a full length console, deep-cut pile carpeting, interior décor/quiet sound group and much more. An Autosound AM/FM radio with a cassette player was also added. Born during the first week in January of 1965 in Freemont California, this car remained in California until 2006 when it was brought to Georgia. Prominent and respected California companies did all of the restoration and re-builds. This SS was used as the basis for the Maisto Company's scale model replica of the 1965 Chevelle SS and a copy will also go with the car. Chevelles received a very mild facelift for 1965. Easiest to notice were a new grille, front bumper and tail lights. The bodies were lengthened 2.7inches and 1.3 inches lower. Also new for SS, besides the console and bucket seats were round instruments set in a bright metal panel. And less bright work on the exteriors. This SS has a very nice interior and exterior. The professionals give it a #9. For those of you that like a lot of chrome under the hood this one is for you. If you want to know how clean and fit these cars were when they were built, look under this one. And while looking, take a peek in the trunk. I doubt this trunk ever hauled much more that groceries! Overall, a very nice California cruiser with some good 'ol Southern muscle under the hood. The jack and spare are present as well. You will not see many opportunities to buy a Chevelle like this. This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom. For more information, please call (678) 279-1609 or toll free (877) 367-1835. | |
