The unmistakable power of the GM produced 5.7L LS6 engine that boasts 405hp and face-flattening 400ft-lbs of torque, keeps you planted in the back of the European styled bucket seats that are wrapped in subtle black leather. Active Handling means you get a larger diameter front sway bar and stiffer rear leaf springs. When you blister the turns at your local road course, you'll be white knuckled the entire time as you rip through the esses and power down the straights due to the power rack and pinion and the speed sensitive power steering cooler. Revised shock valving and camber settings enhance performance at the higher speeds this 'Vette is capable of. Controlling those speeds and coming to a stop is one of the best improvements GM has made to Corvettes and this Z06 has the numbers to back this claim up with its 60mph-0 in just 104ft due to the large 12.6 front rotors and 11.8 rear rotors and the 4 wheel ABS disc brakes. The M12 6spd manual transmission handles the power flawlessly and the 3.42 rear axle gear with LSD (Limited Slip Differential) gives this supercar all the potent power when needed and keeps the rpms low at highway speeds. The all black leather interior is so subtle against your skin you'll be hard pressed to believe that you're sitting in a true American Icon of a sports car. The standard sports leather steering wheel eases those white knuckle drives and the Delco AM/FM/CD player with 6 Bose speakers means hearing one of the sweetest sounding exhaust notes can be by choice rather than by demand. The 6-way power driver's seat makes those long drives oh so comfortable and the inflatable restraint system keeps you and the passenger safe. One of the coolest features is the heads-up display so that you can keep your eyes on the road whether you're cruising or tearing up a track on the weekend. The lighter cast aluminum 18 wheels that are wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 SC radial tires (265/40 front and 295/35 rear) keeps this 3,118lb beast firmly planted on the road and with its 171mph top speed, you'll be glad such a great tire is in contact with the blacktop.
