| DESCRIPTION |
| This 1967 El Camino is one of those cars that brings a smile to everyone's face. Perhaps the El Camino's time has passed, but it represents one of the last truly new ideas in the automotive kingdom. A practical utility vehicle based on one of the most potent musclecars of the era? Where do I sign up? This particular Elky sports a coat of Ermine White paint, giving it a no-nonsense look that perfectly complements its sporty attitude. Obviously this has never been a rusty car, hailing from down south where sheetmetal lasts practically forever, and the work was done not too long ago. It's very straight overall, suggesting that this trucklet never had to work for a living, and there are virtually zero waves in those giant panels that comprise the bed sides. With that in mind, the bed was given a spray-on bedliner that's both durable and practical, and fortunately the guys doing the work did an exemplary job of masking off the shiny bits. You'll also note that the chrome and trim is bright and clean, proper badges have been reinstalled, and the overall look is crisp and clean. A black bench seat makes this El Camino a useful 3-passenger vehicle, and if you're familiar with Chevelles of the period, you'll feel right at home. The upholstery is older but correct, using factory style patterns and materials, and while there's some debate over whether the seat upholstery is original, I'm of the opinion that it's just too nice. However, the carpets, door panels, and dash trim are indeed new and look awesome. The wide instrument panel and cool horn ring are pure '60s cool, and largely disappeared by the end of the muscle car era, although the trick Hurst quarter-stick shifter is a high-performance standard. This El Camino got more than its fair share of options, including power steering, power disc brakes, a tilt wheel, and the original AM radio that still plays loud and clear. Sunpro provided a trio of auxiliary gauges which hang under the dash in traditional hot-rod style. The engine is a strong 327 cubic inch V8 that has been well-dressed for duty in the El Camino's engine bay. Satin black inner fenders are a great background for the Chevy Orange engine which is further dressed up with chrome valve covers and a cool Edelbrock air cleaner. Power upgrades include an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and intake manifold, an upgraded camshaft whose idle sounds awesome, and a set of long-tube headers dumping into a Flowmaster dual exhaust system. You'll also note a new alternator, heavy-duty cooling fan, and all-new hoses, belts, plugs, and wires. A TH350 3-speed automatic spins a highway friendly 3.08 gearset in the 10-bolt out back, which is supported by a set of air shocks for heavy loads. Bright chrome Cragar mags wear staggered 225/60/15 front and 235/70/15 rear BFGoodrich radials. In terms of clean, fun cruisers that are also immensely practical, this El Camino is an excellent choice. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
