DESCRIPTION
This 1969 Camaro Z/28 RS has more than a few tricks up its sleeve. Camaros are popular resto-mods, but few are done this well, honoring the spirit of the original and enhancing it with modern technology. There's an injected stroker motor under the hood, a gorgeous stock-style interior, and it's beautifully finished to show standards throughout. We have photos of the build, and it's obvious that the workmanship is first-rate throughout. The brilliant Lemans Blue finish is only possible with hours and hours of laborious prep work, but the results speak for themselves. Body panels are laser straight, gaps are excellent, and the overall finish is that of a concours piece, not a predatory street machine. There's a cowl induction hood and a ductail spoiler, so it certainly looks racy, but it's also highly authentic with no liberties taken with the factory look. The RS package is certainly desirable, with the hidden headlights that always look right, and from what we can discern, this is a genuine, early-1969 production Z/28, so all the appropriate badges and emblems are installed. Chrome and stainless are excellent throughout, with fresh bumpers, bright stainless, and fresh lenses throughout. Cars don't get much cleaner than this! The restored blue and white interior is just perfect with the Lemans Blue bodywork, giving the interior a bright, airy look with a performance attitude. You'll note rare options like a fold-down rear seat and power windows, as well as a factory console and auxiliary gauges. Seatcovers are new, complete with optional headrests, and the fresh blue carpets are the correct weave and texture. The gauges appear to be original, although the radio has been upgraded to an AM/FM/cassette head unit. And speaking of upgrades, while the Hurst shifter, complete with cue ball knob may look traditional, it's linked to a rugged Tremec 5-speed manual with overdrive, which completely transforms the Z/28's character, turning it into a true long-distance, high-speed cruiser. Mechanically, this Z is extremely potent. Forget 302 cubic inches, there are now 383 cubes of stroked small block under the hood fed by a modified Tuned Port Injection system to make over 400 horsepower. Rebuilt less than 300 miles ago, it runs beautifully, with ground-pounding torque that snaps the car up to speed effortlessly. The engine has been detailed for show, with Chevy Orange paint and a ton of chrome and polished aluminum under the hood that has all been done to professional standards. Power steering and brakes make it easy to drive and the attention to detail is impressive. It's just as well-finished underneath, with gloss black floors, gorgeous long-tube headers, and a set of 3.73 gears in the 12-bolt out back. The stock-style suspension is complimented by a set of Rally wheels wearing 225/70/15 Goodyear Eagle radials that look right on the vintage F-body. This car also includes photos of the build and it is already an accomplished show vehicle. A no-compromises Z/28 that delivers vintage looks with a modern punch. Call today!
